“Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things.” (Acts 17:25).
Nothing will give a more energizing charge to our whole system than another of heaven’s free and rich blessings — AIR. We need to realize that we are more dependent upon the air we breathe than upon the food we eat. Whatever our vocation, business, or lifestyle, we should endeavour to exercise in the open air as much as possible. For those who seek this free and rich gift of heaven, the rewards and blessings will be many. It will prove a tremendous soother of the nerves and will cause the blood to circulate healthfully throughout the body. Fresh air in its purest obtainable form will refresh the body and will tend to render it strong and healthy. At the same time, its influence will be decidedly felt upon the mind, imparting to it a degree of composure and serenity. The pure, fresh air will excite the appetite, permitting the more perfect digestion of food, and will also induce sound, restful sleep. Most important, however, the lungs are constantly throwing off impurities, and need to be continually supplied with fresh, life-giving air.
The free, hopefully pure, invigorating air of heaven can be one of our richest blessings if we learn to appreciate it and use it for the purpose that God intended - to have a more cheerful, healthier and happier life.
